For that amount I'd still buy from Apple direct, just for support ease.

Why does Amazon have these to ship immediately when I ordered weeks ago from Apple and still have to wait another 3 weeks for mine? Ridiculous.

When you buy a new Mac, the support doesn't change just because you bought from a third-party.

Plus there's a bit of a logical failure here by people who are looking at the savings in terms of percentage on the computer's price. Unless you're casually wealthy, you need to look at anything like this from the perspective of your own budget - $50 saved is $50 saved, whether you're saving it on a $100 purchase or a $1000 one.
