Ugreen Launches 300W USB-C GaN 5-Port Desktop Charger

Ugreen today added a new 300W multi-port GaN charger to its growing stock of charging accessories. The $269 brick features four USB-C ports and one USB-A port, and aims to provide enough power for desktop users requiring a single charging solution for multiple devices when away from home.

Instead of supplying fixed power output to several devices, Ugreen's latest Nexode unit operates using variable power distribution. Its most powerful USB-C port utilizes the Power Delivery 3.1 protocol to offer up to 140W, which is enough to fast-charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro up to 50% battery in around 30 minutes using Apple's MagSafe 3 cable while charging four other devices at the same time.

Running with this configuration as an example, the second, third, and fourth USB-C ports will provide 65W, 45W, and 20W, respectively, leaving 22.5W output from its USB-A port. In other configurations, the second and third USB-C ports are capable of up to 100W, while the fourth can output 45W of maximum power, according to Ugreen.

The charger includes a built-in Thermal Guard system that provides intelligent temperature monitoring, taking 6,000 temperature readings a minute in order to keep connected devices protected from overheating, overcharging, and excessive current. The Nexode 300W is also encased in a fire-resistant and flame-retardant PVC shell for added fire protection and drop resistance.

Oh look another company that just buys goods off Alibaba and re-sells them
UGreen is actually one of the top competitors to Anker. The quality of their products is really good, and I far prefer their designs and materials to Anker. I have the 25000mah power bank and it’s a great product. Very well made.

Nice product, but I do wish they'd put the high power ports at the bottom and lower power ports above that. I'm certainly going to use the higher power ones first which means the cables are draping from a higher point on the desk and it's harder to access the other ports below it.

As far as price, the Anker 100W charger looks like it's about $85 and their 150W charger is $110. Buying enough of those for 300W doesn't come in much cheaper than the retail price of this and above the current discount-- and I'd expect a premium on a unique product. It's not cheap, but it's not beyond what one might expect.

That takes far too much math and effort to efficiently charge your devices...

They want to? I know many use cases for things I have is “I wanted it”.
But why do you want it? Or why would someone hypothetically want it. If you are traveling with a laptop, it has the innate ability to charge your other device(s). Why do you want to spend $200+ to bring another device that does the same thing. If your laptop doesn't have enough ports, you probably have a very small Apple brick laying around.

Who does this? Is this anyones real life?
