$169 is not a record low price. The Apple Watch SE got as low as $149 on Amazon around Black Friday 2024.

The article is wrong about record low price (as mentioned earlier). Both Amazon and Walmart had the SE at $149 late last year. Amazon once or twice, Walmart a few times for short periods before being quickly sold out.

Even if the SE3 is coming, this is a great bargain. I'm satisfied with the SE2, and it seems silly that I've been weighing buying a 10, when this model does everything I need it to*. One advantage is that the SE2 still comes in the Starlight colour, which pairs well with any band, while the silver and black are less versatile. I have a dark green-blue sport band from 2021 and a gold-looking Milanese loop. While the latter differs from the hue of the Watch, they do not clash at all, quite the contrary.

*The only reason I wouldn't get too excited about this product is that it's missing AI features for weight loss. While it helps me track exercise, I use MyFitnessPal and ChatGPT way more to guide me through my weight loss journey. A voice-controlled or visual food log with Apple AI would be great, as well as a self-updating grocery list.

Apple is dropping the ball on weight loss, concentrating on exercise.

Apple should make a pay to use android app for apple watch that costs money to download. Could be a win for everyone. Apple gets the extra money and customers, and people with android get to use apple watch if they want to.

Every now and then you see bargains on Apple devices at Amazon, and you wonder why some people still buy their stuff fully priced at the Apple Store. I guess it's the same people who are fine with paying $300 for an iPad keyboard just because it's the official Apple one. Small wonder the company is so profitable!
