Apple's 40W Dynamic Power Adapter Expands to New Countries

Apple is expanding availability of its new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max to several countries that use type G plugs. The new variant of the adapter features a three-prong folding design that is distinct from the initial two-prong versions that launched in September alongside the iPhone 17 models.

40W Dynamic Power Adapter Feature 2
The new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter design is available for purchase in the UK, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia.

Apple previously launched the Dynamic Power Adapter in the U.S., Canada, China, Japan, Mexico, Taiwan, and the Philippines.

The 40W Dynamic Power Adapter is the same size as Apple's 20W charger, but it is able to deliver 40W for faster charging. It also provides up to 60W in short bursts to speed up charging even further.

In the United States, the Dynamic Power Adapter is priced at $39, but prices vary in other countries.

Makes me disappointed the two-port adapter doesn’t have folding prongs in the UK.

Your county's prongs are ridiculous. Nothing can be sleek with those things.
Success breeds jealousy.

They’re good for safety and aren’t likely to drop out of a wall socket, like happened to me in a US hotel with a MacBook adapter.

The progs fold, are you talking about the 40w adapter pictured above?
No, I mean the dual-port (USB-C) adapter Apple also sells in the UK. In the US, it’s sized a lot closer to the one-port 20W adapter. In tne UK, it protrudes from the wall more like the oldest AirPort Express, the prongs are fixed in position, but the plug head can be removed and swapped for another from the world travel kit or whatever it’s called, or even an extension cable.

It’s amusing how many variants of adapter Apple produces these days.

40W up to 60W USB-C adaptor

For the US = chunkier, but still pocketable and nice-looking.

For the UK = looks a bit chunkier/less comfortable for carrying in a pocket.

Current model for the UK = retro (mid-2000s) and a bit ugly.
Cable direction: Away from wall 🤢
Pins: Fixed 🤢 (but swappable for worldwide use ✔️)

20W single-port USB-C adapter

For the US = slim/pocketable, but…
