AltiVec support in Linux

Terra Soft Solutions announced full development support under Linux for AltiVec on PPC's. The Press Release claims 150-300% increase with some apps getting 10x previous performance.

I expect most of the gains come from mathematically intensive applications, however, it seems Mac support for AltiVec is still somewhat lacking.
