FOX Sports GO Now Available on Apple TV

FOX Sports GO has officially launched on the fourth-generation Apple TV. The app, previewed by Apple at WWDC 2016, has a split-screen interface that enables sports fans to watch up to four games at once, be it four MLB games or a combination of baseball, basketball, football, and hockey.

The app provides live streams of Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports 2, Fox Soccer Plus, Fox Deportes, and Fox College Sports, and selected events airing on Fox and its regional sports networks, based on your location and which channels you are subscribed to through your cable or satellite TV package. Coverage includes MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, NASCAR, UEFA Champions League, FIFA World Cup, UFC, and more. Subject to local availability, subscribers will also have access to full seasons of hometown MLB, NBA, and NHL telecasts.

FOX Sports GO requires authenticating with an existing cable or satellite TV subscription, with partnered networks including AT&T U-Verse, Bright House Networks, Cable One, Cablevision, Charter Spectrum, Cox Communications, DirecTV, Google Fiber, Midcontinent Communications, PlayStation Vue, Sling TV, Suddenlink Communications, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, WOW!, and Xfinity TV.

FOX Sports GO is available now as a free download on the tvOS App Store.

yeah this is the worst part. it really eliminates a big part of the GO aspect. When i am traveling and my team isn't being locally broadcast i want to be able to open up the app and watch my team.

Especially when you live out of market, but a league uses 10 states claiming that is in market.

I'd pay monthly just to occasionally watch Royals games. I had the Sling TV trial for a week after my son was born recently, and he would get really calm while watching baseball and then eventually drift off to sleep for a long time. Turns out baseball is great for dozing with infants in the recliner.

I didn't end up being very happy with Sling TV overall. The interface was a little clunky, the current and upcoming schedule took a long time to refresh, and sometimes content would get blacked out (I'm looking at you, KC Chiefs, and it was a preseason game of all things) which kind of defeats the purpose of having a streaming "cable" package. Their two package system makes it so you can't get Fox Sports with ESPN without stepping up to the really expensive package. You also can't get Disney and Nick Jr. without doing the same. I'd more seriously consider it if I could just build my own package for a lower price as I'm just interested in maybe 10 channels at the most. All that other fluff is just waste.

No I haven't. I'm not the biggest of sports fans and I haven't felt like putting any effort, even a little, into looking into that. But blackout rules still bug me when there is the off chance I want to watch my hockey team play and can't.
Blackouts are so freaking annoying. It's like "Why don't you want my money and/or advertising revenue you morons? No, I'm not driving 120 miles across the state to pay $40 to park and hundreds of dollars for a ticket to go to this game. I've got a newborn son and want to watch some damn sports!" And some VPNs are really shady with what they do with your data that they route through them. I have a hard time trusting it, especially when I signed up for some on a limited basis and their unsubscribe button in their email marketing won't opt me out and they keep spamming me daily. Had to set up some rules to block them. It's sad that the best way to watch sports online is often through shady website links posted on Reddit, where I have to close out of a billion popups and then when I finally get a standard-def stream going (that often buffers) then I have to send that signal over AirPlay from my MacBook Pro to the Apple TV. What a great experience!
