Adobe MAX 2020 Free for Everyone, Registration Now Open

Adobe holds an annual event called Adobe MAX each year to highlight new Adobe software releases for design and advertising professionals. Adobe MAX normally takes place in person, but like many events, the 2020 conference will be held digitally from October 20 to October 22.

Adobe MAX 2020 is a free event for everyone who wants to attend, and registration is open as of today. Those interested in signing up for Adobe MAX can do so on the Adobe website.

According to Adobe, there will be 56 hours of "inspiration and learning," which will include live content demos, speakers, sneak peeks, celebrity appearances, and musical performances.

Special guests will include actor Keanu Reeves, filmmaker Ava DuVernay, photographer Annie Leibovitz, and recording artist Tyler, the Creator.

Those who register will be entered into a sweepstakes to win a free MAX t-shirt and can begin crafting a schedule for virtual events they want to attend. Registering also provides access to instructor files and presentation downloads and an opportunity to engage with Adobe product experts.

A free t-shirt I can get behind… paying for Creative Cloud, not so much.

As far as I'm concerned, Adobe an get bent. I worked for them for over a year back in 2008-2009 and they wouldn't even give employees a discount OR time off to attend MAX. On top of that, their prices are insane. No way will I ever "subscribe" to their overpriced crap; the only truly good thing they make is Photoshop and thankfully there are now plenty of alternatives to it (like Pixelmator). My job (contract) ended because I was the last American developer on our team; everybody else was in India. Their Indian CEO was moving all development jobs to India. Conflict of interest?

”is a free event for everyone who wants to attend...”

So if I don’t want to attend, is it still free?

I wonder if we're going to find that these events are more effective as virtual events and it it will stay this way after the pandemic recedes. "Open to everyone who wants to attend" seems like quite an advantage and putting together a massive in person conference is a nightmare to manage.

CES is a different matter, where you actually want to see hardware in person, but software conferences seem to be just fine online.
Nothing beats networking in person. I’m sure it’ll be great but I really miss going to conferences.

They just want everyone's e-mails so they can spam you with "Sign up for Adobe CC" messages until you either unsubscribe or give in. I'd consider it if they offered like a 5-10% discount or something. 🤷🏻‍♀️
