Windows Migration Assistant Updated for macOS Big Sur

Apple overnight updated its Windows Migration Assistant software to include compatibility with macOS Big Sur.

As spotted by iMore, version 2.3.0.0 of the utility provides support for users looking to migrate their data from a Windows PC to Apple's latest Mac operating system.

The assistant transfers users' contacts, calendars, email accounts, and more from a Windows machine and migrates the data to the appropriate places in macOS. After the process has been performed, Apple advises users to authorize their Mac for iTunes Store purchases. For more information, consult Apple's updated support article.

Released on November 12, macOS Big Sur‌‌ is a major update that brings a redesigned look to the Mac with an iOS-style Control Center and new widget options. Safari is faster and more battery efficient and there are new privacy protections and a translate option, plus it supports 4K YouTube playback.

Apple has also added updates and new options for Messages, Photos, and Maps, with a list of the major changes available in our features guide and a full rundown of all the changes available in our roundup.

They could've made a more compelling interface for this.

For a company that focused on design? I'd would think so. But maybe this one of those times that Apple just wants to make Windows/Windows computer look extra bad like in the Windows PC icons you see (or saw) in the network view or the way they show Windows laptops as these giant, 20 year old looking machines.
Apple’s really cold. Not only did they not get rid of that icon, they even updated it in their SF Symbols app and, I'm guessing, in Big Sur: now it features Windows 10’s sad smiley-style BSOD, so it's even more obvious than before. xD But honestly, with John Hodgman's reappearance in his “PC” role at the M1 launch event, what did you expect?

Does it matter? This is a utility that might be used once in a lifetime.

I think they are using the standard Windows interface.

That screenshot looks weird... It depicts transferring Mac to Mac, lol...

Surely Apple has a license to use the Windows logo, as they've used it in the bootcamp installers forever.
