Would love to have an M1 iPad Pro but just cannot muster a single reason to sell my perfectly good 2018 iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard. It's still very, very fast and responsive and works great.

Gotta love the “lowest price ever!” - as if it’s been out 5 years.

I ordered 2 items when I preordered the iPad from Costco. I had a $100 off coupon for the iPad that I applied to the order. I ended up returning the other item (return to sender) because there was a demo at a store and bought it. Well, the item was credited to my acct but somehow the promo code got broken up and I didn’t receive the entire $100 off for the iPad so I asked them to make it whole. I was only given $75 off instead of the $100. A couple of days later I received an email saying I will be getting $109 off my order ($100 for the iPad and $9 for taxes) and it was listed as a customer appreciation credit. Costco already does $50 off the iPad. If you add up the $50+$75(original discount)+$109(customer appreciation credit) it brings my cost down to $865+tax. Hell of a deal and I love Costco! I just got really lucky.
That was a good deal. I had a $50 coupon from Costco, so $100 off retail, but that wasn't enough for me to spring. Congratulations. Yes, we like Costco, too.

Pencil and mobility.
Pencil, mobility, touchscreen, the versatility of being able to have keyboard if you want it but also being able to take it off and just hold it up close for reading/game playing when you want to.

I just received my 2021 12.9" with 256GB two days ago. I previously had a 2018 Pro like you. While I am excited to have the latest and greatest, nothing really feels different with the new iPad - other than the weight. It's noticeably heavier than the 2018. It's sort of problematic with the slim cases where the cover folds into 3 sections to create an upright base for the iPad. It's so heavy that it falls over backward on my couch when I am sitting next to it if I move. I'm really hoping Apple adds software to enhance the M1 experience. I updated all of my devices to M1 except for the 2016 MBP 16" - waiting....
