Apple Now Offering Refurbished 2020 iPad Air 4 Models

Apple today began selling refurbished versions of the fourth-generation iPad Air for the first time since the tablet was initially released in October 2020.

The fourth-generation iPad Air introduced an all-display design, an array of different colors for the body, and a Touch ID Home button. It featured an A14 chip, the same chip that was used in the iPhone 12 lineup.

Apple has several different ‌iPad Air‌ 4 models available for purchase in 64 and 256GB capacities. 64GB models are priced at $469, which Apple says is an $80 savings over the $549 standard price, and the 256GB models are priced at $599, a $100 savings. It's worth noting that the ‌iPad Air‌ 4 was priced at $599 for the 64GB model and $729 for the 256GB version, so Apple is listing pricing that was not technically available. There are multiple color options for each capacity, including silver, sky blue, green, rose gold, and space gray, but stock is limited and will fluctuate.

Refurbished iPads are sold with the same one-year warranty that's provided with a brand new device, along with all manuals and accessories. Refurbished devices go through a rigorous testing, repair, repackaging, and cleaning process that makes them nearly identical to new devices.

(Thanks, Michael!)

You aren't homeschooling your kids on any particular subject at all? I know I'm always teaching my kids through conversation at the dinner table.

There's no definition or even certification for a homeschool teacher. You could be homeschooling a 9-year old across the street or across the country via Zoom. You could be a parent (whether or not you're aware of) to a student attending higher education.
That’s not what “homeschool teacher” means, and we all know it. Now, if you’re suggesting that you can get away with claiming the discount because they’re not going to check then I agree with you. But I consider that unethical and wouldn’t do it.

.....or just buy it brand new right now from Costco for the same price. $599 for the 256GB version. Refurb should be lower than brand new at Costco.

Amazing. I paid $800 for a iPad Pro with 1TB 2 years ago at B&H and now present day they want almost $500 for an iPad Air with just 64GB of storage.
That's an amazing price for a pro.

Apple says it’s available to “Available to current and newly accepted college students and their parents, as well as faculty, staff, and homeschool teachers of all grade levels.” That definitely doesn’t include me and is pretty far from “virtually everyone.”

Poor value, for $80 more, get a brand new current version with M1/8GB.

Virtually everyone is eligible for the edu discount.
