Apple Releases Safari Technology Preview 184 With Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements

Apple today released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the experimental browser Apple first introduced in March 2016. Apple designed the ‌Safari Technology Preview‌ to test features that may be introduced into future release versions of Safari.

Safari Technology Preview Feature
‌Safari Technology Preview‌ 184 includes fixes and updates for Accessibility, CSS, HTMK, JavaScript, Media, Web Animations, Web API, Web Assembly, Web Inspector, and WebGL.

The current ‌Safari Technology Preview‌ release is compatible with machines running macOS Ventura and macOS Sonoma, the latest version of macOS that Apple released in September 2023.

The ‌Safari Technology Preview‌ update is available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences or System Settings to anyone who has downloaded the browser. Full release notes for the update are available on the Safari Technology Preview website.

Apple's aim with ‌Safari Technology Preview‌ is to gather feedback from developers and users on its browser development process. ‌Safari Technology Preview‌ can run side-by-side with the existing Safari browser and while designed for developers, it does not require a developer account to download.

Needs a proper ad blocker. I’ve got WIPR: a disappointment. Is any future comparability with uBlock Origin still on the cards ?
I doubt it. I don't think that's the purpose of STP. The purpose is to experiment with the UI and implement cutting edge web features that will eventually be rolled into Safari.

God I wish they would add an option to have multiple rows of tabs. Tab manager has been helpful but I'd really love the option to at least have a 2nd row of tabs...

Is this generally speedier than normal safari? I used this a long time ago but gave it up because all the keychain and history didn’t seem shared with regular safari.
No. That's not the point of STP.
