Because of course there’s no other country where something similar is taking place…like the UK. Jeez, the naivety.

As a US Air Force Vietnam Era veteran, I accept the challenge! My avatar is the beer can DI (decorative insignia) of the 19th Air Commando Squadron, later the 19th Tactical Airlift Squadron, based at Tan Son Nhut AFB. My tour was spent TDY at Udorn RTAFB in Thailand, the setting of the Mel Gibson movie, "Air America."

That's really confusing. No idea what you mean.
Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day (November 11th) owing to the tradition of wearing a remembrance poppy ('https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembrance_poppy')) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth ('https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commonwealth_of_Nations')member states since the end of the First World War ('https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_World_War')to honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.

Essentially the equivalent to Veterans Day in the USA i.e remembering those who have fought for their country.
