Apple Releases Second iOS 18.6 Public Beta

Apple today seeded the second betas of upcoming iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 updates to public beta testers, with the betas coming just a day after Apple provided the betas to developers. Apple has also released a second beta of macOS Sequoia 15.6.

Testers who have signed up for beta updates through Apple's beta site can download iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 from the Settings app on a compatible device by going to General > Software Update.

No notable features have been found in the developer betas so far, but the iOS 18.6 update will bring additional changes to the App Store in the European Union. Aside from that, the updates likely focus on smaller changes and bug fixes. No new features were found in macOS Sequoia 15.6 either.

Apple is also beta testing iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe. While betas are limited to developers right now, a public beta will be coming soon.

Serious question: Why would someone use this public beta?
Serious answer: Because some of us aren’t ready to dive into iOS 26 when it’s only in second beta. And some of us have had annoying issues with 18.5 that 18.6 seems to fix.

Psssh, iOS 18.6 is OLD NEWS. Everybody is getting stoked for iOS 26.4, when the ALL NEW Siri will be unveiled. For the first time EVER, Siri, powered by the best-in-class, privacy-focused Apple Intelligence, will feature on-screen and contextual awareness. I've moved on from preferring new features to preferring better performance and stability.

Wonder if we'll see a release this week. If not, Monday is my guess.
A little early yet. Look for sometime between July 21 and July 30.
