Apple is planning to bring an iPhone 17 Pro-style vapor chamber to the iPad Pro, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
In the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter, Gurman explained that with increasingly powerful chips, Apple is planning to bring vapor chamber cooling to the iPad Pro. The new feature could arrive as soon as with the next generation, which will likely feature the "M6" chip made with TSMC's 2-nanometer process. The liquid cooling system would help mitigate throttling, especially as the iPad Pro becomes more capable at handling intense workflows.
If the move to bring a vapor chamber to the iPhone and iPad Pro prove successful, Apple could turn its attention to bringing the technology to other passively cooled devices like the MacBook Air. Apple is now seemingly operating an approximate 18-month refresh cycle for the iPad Pro, so next-generation model should arrive in the spring of 2027, according to Gurman.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has high expectations for Apple's first foldable iPhone.
In his Power On newsletter today, he said the foldable iPhone will be "the most significant overhaul in the iPhone's history."
"iPhone 4, iPhone 6 and iPhone X were clearly a big deal, but this is a whole new design," he said.
Like Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7, the foldable iPhone will reportedly open up like ...

Apple will add a vapor chamber cooling system to the iPad Pro as soon as next year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

Apple is still developing a large foldable iPad, despite hitting several technical hurdles along the way, reports Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
Writing in his Power On newsletter, Gurman says the "gigantic" foldable iPad will challenge Apple's long-running tradition of keeping the Mac and iPad as separate devices. Some have referred to it as a foldable iPad, while others have called it an...
Awesome, I was hoping Apple would implement this on the iPad Pro. And hopefully more memory while we are at it.
With the iPad Pro getting more and more capable, my 11" with a Magic Keyboard is my go-to computer for everything when away from my desk. Rarely touch my MacBook.
So if the ipad pro cannot deal with the heat from M6...then also the macs needs a better cooling solution starting with the M6 Macbook air and so on since for the M5 Macbook air is too late
About time! I thought this years M5 iPad Pro would come with one. Although now that I think about it, the Apple logo has copper for a better heat transfer, since the M4 iPad Pro.
But now… now I think: what about the MacBook Air? It’s been demonstrated that the M5 consumes more power and need a higher heat dissipation… so from my point of view, the M5 MBA will be the perfect time to equip a vapor chamber to better dissipate heat.
We keep enjoying the USB-C to SD Card reader dongles. Honestly, SD Card slots are a wasted input on MacBook Pro as this is meant for photographers and creative illustrators for those that need storage on the go. No one uses it.
