ChatGPT Gets GPT-6 and New Intelligent UI With Visual Answers

OpenAI today introduced Intelligent UI, a new feature that will let ChatGPT answer questions with "fully interactive user interfaces." OpenAI says everyday answers will be more visual, and the feature will make it easier for users to understand complicated topics.

ChatGPT responses will include graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts, diagrams, and other interactive experiences. Sample comparisons between GPT–5.6 and GPT–6 on OpenAI's website show more visuals in responses, an interactive recipe widget that can automatically tweak quantities based on guest count, checklists, integrated maps, and multiple-choice follow-up questions to narrow down results.

ChatGPT can quickly create tools to complete tasks, like a bill splitter, small games, and a calculator. GPT–6 is also able to start answering while it's still thinking for quicker responses.

According to OpenAI, Intelligent UI uses a library of native, streamable components with a compiler that processes the interface as the model generates it.

In addition to introducing Intelligent UI, OpenAI is expanding GPT–6 models to more users. GPT–6 with Intelligent UI is rolling out to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users today, and tomorrow, the rollout will expand to Free and Go tiers.

Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users get GPT–6 Sol, while Free and Go tier users get access to GPT–6 Luna. GPT–6 is limited to the Chat tab, and the models for Work and Codex aren't changing.

Apple's Siri AI Can Be Swapped Out for Claude, ChatGPT, Code Shows

Monday September 14, 2026 4:37 am PDT by
Code sleuth "pdfu" has uncovered iOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate private frameworks that show Apple has designed its new Siri architecture to work with third-party AI models at what appears to be a surprisingly deep level. One mechanism called Model Delegation allows Claude to appear as a Siri extension in the same way as the existing built-in ChatGPT extension. In pdfu's video, shared on X,...

ChatGPT in Siri 'Persistently Underperforming,' Says OpenAI

Wednesday September 23, 2026 5:15 pm PDT by
OpenAI saw disappointing results working with Apple to integrate ChatGPT in Siri, according to court documents filed [PDF] in its ongoing legal fight with Elon Musk's company SpaceXAI (xAI at the time the lawsuit was filed). Apple added ChatGPT to Siri in December 2024, but users had to go through a multistep opt-in process, which added a layer of friction. By January 2025, OpenAI said the...

OpenAI's New GPT-6 Sol and Luna Models Bring Astra Improvements to Cheaper Tiers

Tuesday September 22, 2026 1:58 pm PDT by
OpenAI today launched GPT–6 Sol and GPT–6 Luna, two new models that follow GPT–6 Astra. OpenAI says the new models were developed using methods similar to Astra's for improvements in professional work, factuality, coding, computer use, and alignment. GPT–6 Sol is for everyday work, and it costs less than Astra. GPT–6 Luna is an even cheaper model. Luna is optimized for fast...

Hooray, a new version of the computer program that destroys the planet and makes RAM expensive so it can tell you wrong things based on a repository of Reddit comments. I'm so excited, what a fantastic useful product to pump trillions of dollars into and hinge the entire economy upon.

June 2023 wants it's talking points back.

Do people not realize how hopelessly out of touch they sounds when they say stuff like this in 2026? Like, they've not been paying attention *at all* to AI development?

Like complaining about "the world wide web" hogging their phone line and taking 3 minutes to download a picture.

Rather than mock, why not educate those stuck in said year of 2023 with accurate reports on the differences in AI development since then and alleviate the environmental and supply-chain concerns instead of using a very bizarre false equivalency…

Yeah after asking one question I’m sure you get a prompt to pay $20/month for ChatGPT+ in order to get answer for next question. 🙄
It turns out that this is not the case, contrary to my expectations. I just asked multiple questions without any prompt for money, and without even an ad (the ad is what I expected, because the last time I used it in a web browser that was the price I paid).

Contrast Claude, where I can’t get past the login because they want my phone number for 2FA. Sorry, but there is no way I am willingly giving my phone number to an AI!
