IBM Processor Technology in Apple Portable?
According to this Henry Norr article in the San Francisco Chronicle:
"Because IBM doesn't currently make Intel-compatible chips, SOI won't show up in Windows notebooks until the company decides to license its process to other manufacturers, or other companies manage to come up with their own equivalent.
But an IBM spokesman said the technology will be available to Apple, which already uses IBM-made PowerPC chips in its laptops. While declining to provide details, he said SOI will appear in a portable device this year. "
