Tiger Automator, Spotlight and Dashboard Plugins
Several readers have noted that some of Apple's download pages have included new categories for the upcoming Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger release.
The new categories include:
Automator Actions
Dashboard Widgets
Spotlight Plugins
Automator allows users to setup repetitive tasks using visual tools. Additional actions would allow added functionality to Automator.
Dashboard is Apple's new mini-Application framework to give users quick access to simple Applications. These "mini Applications" are called Widgets.
Spotlight provides a new desktop search system for various kinds of data. Plug-in's would presumably allow existing applications to be searched with Spotlight.
