Apple Releases Aperture 3.2.4 Update

by

NewImageApple has released a minor bug fix update to its Aperture photo editing and management software.

What's New in Aperture 3.2.4

- Improves stability on Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
- Addresses an issue that could prevent the Viewer from updating correctly after editing a photo using an external editor.

The app weighs in at 635.54MB and is available through Software Update, Apple's software update website, or the Mac App Store for customers who have purchased Aperture through it.

The biggest bug with Aperture is that it exists.

Seriously... You're wasting your time using Aperture over Lightroom.

Next maybe you will argue that "red" is a better color than "blue" and people are idiots for liking blue.

That's good, both of these are irritating bugs. Now where's Aperture 4? And accompanying synchronising iPad app? And that moon on a stick I requested?

Two of these i am eagerly waiting for.

Not really. Lightroom's interface and entire method of getting things done is simply horrible.

Um...no.

As someone who used Lightroom from Beta to LR4 and switched to Aperture, I much prefer Aperture.

Both products give the exact same result if you know how to use them, its up to personal preference on which one you want to use.

This is pretty much the only bug I'm aware I kept running into in Aperture. (the external edits not being reflected in the previews thing)

I love Aperture, and tried Lightroom out comprehensively - loved that too. Also tried Capture One Pro.. They all do much the same stuff its insane to say people should be using one over the other. It's really about how one responds to the features, interfaces and possible workflows. I'm so efficient at doing what I do now in Aperture I'd have to find totally new ways to do the same things in LR and I prefer the way folders, metadata etc are handled in Aperture.

Everyone's going to like different approaches to single tasks.

Yes but you never know what they do with Aperture 4, if they will do it. See what they did to FCP X. Maybe it's better not to update to anything at this point.
In terms of performance, FCP X was a big step forward. If that happened to Aperture, nobody would complain.
