Apple Seeds Safari 6.0.1 for OS X Lion to Developers

by

Apple today seeded a developer build of Safari 6.0.1 for OS X Lion for testing, giving developers a chance to test out the next minor standalone update to Apple's Internet browser. Safari 6.0.1 is included in the OS X 10.8.2 developer build seeded yesterday, but Apple will also be releasing the update for users still running OS X Lion.

The Safari update comes on top of larger developer builds of OS X Lion 10.7.5, with Apple continuing development on Lion even though OS X Mountain Lion and its first update of OS X 10.8.1 have already made their way into the hands of users.

And remember what Tim Cook said today - "Stealing isn't right. I hope the whole world listens." That means you!

I really hope they fix some issues with the Developer menu.

Anyone else want the stylesheet name back next to the selector?

I'd like to see RSS feeds back as well as the Activity window.

Hopefully it fixes some issues I've been having with page rendering.

In terms of features, it's probably too much to hope for Apple actually bringing back the search box (unified sucks).

Do people seriously use Safari on Windows...?

I do at times. There are times I need more than one browser open at work. I use Firefox as my main browser, and don't touch IE. I've found that for certain tasks, Safari is quicker than Chrome. So, Safari it is.
