'The LEGO Movie Video Game' for iOS Hits the App Store

by

Popular children's film The LEGO Movie has been translated into an iOS app, which was released in the App Store today. The LEGO Movie Video Game, like other LEGO games, is a premium title that's based on the movie, offering the same fun characters and plot line in a playable format.

In the game, players will take on the role of Emmet, an ordinary rule-abiding lego guy who has to take on the job of saving the world from an evil tyrant, with the help of the friends he meets on his journey.

The LEGO Movie Video Game features more than 90 characters from the movie, and there are 45 levels to play through across worlds like Cloud Cuckoo Land and Flatbush Gulch. There's also an all new animation style.

Thanks but no thanks.

I get the free + in-app-purchases (even though I hate them) ... but if they charge 5 bucks, they shouldn't do in-app. If they feel it is worth more, just charge that price and be honest about it.

What is dishonest about it? The in-app purchases are not a secret. Also, they are not required to complete the game, but they provide things early that otherwise would have to be unlocked during gameplay. So for the $4.99, you get the full game. How is that not "honest"?

The whining about in-app purchases has really reached extreme levels.

What's wrong with it? Why does everyone have to pay more, just for the sake of some weird principle of yours? You buy the game. If you like it, you buy a bit more to extend your enjoyment. Kinda like Lego itself.

The problem is, despite $4.99 price tag, the game's description states the game will present "advertising and promotions for other Warner Bros. products and services" and it does not even specify what are and how in-app purchases influence the gameplay.
