Apple Seeds Second OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan Beta to Developers

Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan update to developers, one week after seeding the first beta and two weeks after releasing the first OS X El Capitan update to the public, OS X 10.11.1.

The new beta, build 15C31f, can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center and through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store.

It is not known what improvements the second update to OS X El Capitan will bring, but it’s likely to focus on bug fixes, security enhancements, and performance improvements to address issues that have been discovered since the release of OS X 10.11.1. Apple's beta 1 release notes asked developers to focus on Graphics, Mail, Wi-Fi, Calendar, USB, Notes, Photos, and Spotlight.

Yep. My laptop was bricked by 10.11.1. I had to restore to 10.11.0 via Time Machine. Thank God for backups.
Stop using the word bricked if you don't know its meaning. :oops:

Couldn't be soon enough! A lot of users had their Macs bricked (other problems, too) by 10.11.1. Let's hope .2 fixes this.
If something is "bricked", no software in the world will help. Since it's bricked. The hardware would be useless (= as valuable as a brick).

So ******* petty. I'm sure you've never used a word in an incorrect context before. I'll be sure to not post any more comments on this forum in order to avoid angering you and the rest of the "non-bricked" brigade.

And for a time, my device was rendered as useless a a brick. The device was bricked to me.

That's not what bricked means.
If the Wikipedia article on "bricked" is true, not even a disabled computer would be considered bricked. It really should only be used to describe small, permanently disabled consumer devices that are around the same size as a brick.

Exactly. beta 1 of 10.11.2 nearly bricked my 2015 27" imac. broken usb ports, audio dropping out etc. Gonna wait on this one now. Yes I know it was beta (beta police) but it shouldn't be so many steps backwards and damaging if it is going to be released to the public.


Just the exact opposite for me (and a few others)
You don't brick your Mac with a software update, it might get unstable, or even unusable but you can always go back to a working Mac, and if that is the case it is not bricked.
