iPhone XR No Longer Available for Launch Day Delivery From Apple

In the United States and several other countries, the iPhone XR is no longer available for launch day delivery from Apple's online store.

All colors and capacities from all carriers are listing a delivery date of one to two weeks, with new orders made today set to arrive from November 5 to November 12.

In store pickup for the iPhone XR is also no longer available for orders placed today via Apple's website or the Apple Store app, with Apple likely saving remaining supply for walk in purchases on launch day.

After pre-orders launched last Friday, the iPhone XR remained largely in stock in the United States, though some T-Mobile yellow iPhone XR options sold out.

There's no longer an option to order online for launch day delivery, but Apple should have plenty of supply for people who want to make a purchase after the iPhone XR launches on Friday, October 26.

Apple's carrier partners and major retailers like Best Buy are also offering the iPhone XR and some still have stock available for launch day delivery for online orders.

Priced starting at $749, the iPhone XR is Apple's lowest-priced flagship iPhone. It features Face ID, an edge-to-edge LCD display, a single-lens camera, a glass body for wireless charging, and a super fast A12 Bionic processor.

I'm not trying to be conspiratorial, but up to last night everything was available for pre-order for the 26th in the China store. Today they all give a 1-2 week timeframe.

Perhaps they're just prepping global couriers and distribution for the Friday influx and tagging a 1-2 week delivery for everything going forward. Maybe it's just a nice marketing coincidence?

That took long enough. It’s well over 3 days since the pre-orders started.
Ya know... for a product that is supposed to sell for the next year... I'm not sure these last 3 days really matter.

Why does everyone freak out about this one week of pre-orders anyway?

This is a company who sells over 200 million smartphones a year. The first week of sales might be a nice headline... but the rest of the year is the actual story.

That took long enough. It’s well over 3 days since the pre-orders started.
Massive supply most likely.

Plus, it doesn’t matter. The Xr is not the “enthusiast” phone. I’m surprised it slipped at all. I expected there to be enough online stock until at least launch weekend.

Xr will have a “slow burn” of strong sales through 2019 as more people see it.

These phones (all 3 new ones) make the old form factor seem REALLY old.

Yeah, the warehouses must have been stuffed to the rafters. Good thing they gave themselves an extra 5 weeks of production to try to build sufficient inventory and keep from selling out.

They almost managed to pull it off, but again demand outstrips supply. Happens every year. No matter how many they make, it’s never enough lol.
