Apple Stops Signing iOS 12.2 Following Release of iOS 12.3

by

IPSWFollowing the release of iOS 12.3 on May 13, Apple has stopped signing iOS 12.2, the previous version of iOS that was available to consumers.

iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch owners who have upgraded to iOS 12.3 will no longer be able to downgrade to iOS 12.2.

iOS 12.3, available on all devices able to run iOS 12, was a major update that brought the revamped Apple TV app with new Channels feature.

Apple routinely stops signing older versions of software updates after new releases come out in order to encourage customers to keep their operating systems up to date.

iOS 12.3 is now the only version of iOS that can be installed on iPhones and iPads, but developers and public beta testers can download iOS 12.4, another major update that's currently being beta tested.

Even an iPhone 5S is supported (iOS 12), that's a 6 year+ old phone.....

It's like talking to brick walls with their terrible obsolescence narrative. Biggest cause of obsolescence is the passage of time.

Shhhhh, that sort of fact based argument doesn't fit in with nonsensical Android based astroturfing. If they keep repeating a lie long enough they count it'll stick with some people. Remember, Apple with those security and functionality updates for users phones (like the 5s, a 6 year old phone) really screws over Apple customers compared to Android where the longest updates (google) is only 3 years with other vendors often only 2 years of updates or if its not a top of the line phone (Samsung) a good chunk do no updates at all. /s

Just FYI, you’re not required to update your iOS. You can keep your iPad 2 on iOS 5 for as long as you want.
