The Apple Developer app can also be used to enroll in the Apple Developer program on iPhone or iPad, though this functionality is currently limited to the United States. Membership is provided as an auto-renewable subscription, making it easier to keep a developer account active.

The Apple Developer app can be downloaded from the App Store for free. Those who had the WWDC app can install an update to get the new Apple Developer interface.

World Wide Developer’s (plural) Conference. Sure you maybe right in that’s not how it’s meant. Yet they’re changing the name of the app, it’s just odd not to reflect developers as a plural but whatever.
Here’s something that may shock you. You can also use iMovie to make more than movie. And it is ok to make a one page document in Pages.

Developers is the plural, btw. Which Apple uses correctly, but you haven’t here - developer’s is the singular possessive.

This is stupid. Renaming the app and probably soon the conference is just being vain!

developers are located worldwide and Apple pretty much sells products worldwide too.

so one has to ask why or whom at Apple is making such a vain decision? Whom is being ousted or who. Is being forgotten in relevance to this?

it’s like rebranding something just because with no real relevance ; kind of like the Ford Mach E.
Here is a question... Why are you bitching so hard? How does this affect you?

Don't tell me, it requires iOS 13.2.3?
You can always use the ADC website (only been there since the 90's)

Could WWDC be renamed as well?

Perhaps, ADC next year?
ah the days of the Apple developer connection.

I like this. For better or worse, I always felt that the WWDC App was largely irrelevant for much of the year. It seemed to me that it was mostly pointless for the other 10-11 months of the calendar, even if it wasn't. A good call.

who said they're renaming the conference? app specifically mentions it will feature "WWDC content"

it doesn't make sense to update a WWDC app with new developer content outside of WWDC days. make the app contain all developer content where WWDC is a subset of all things "developer" related.
