I think govs and people are overreacting. Most people will suffer more due to the economic crisis that is looming than due to the virus...
They're not. Italy was unlucky , as we were the first European country to face the emergency. Up until last week everyone here was in denial, like you. Ski resorts were full of people, everyone was enjoying the weekend at the beach or window shopping. We wasted a week with mild actions like closing bars but not restaurants, and now we have to put patients in a former fair pavilion as there is no more room in hospitals.
China put the Whuan region in a complete lockdown and they're now reopening their stores as they were able to contain the spreading of corona virus. Some people in Italy advocated for similar measures last month, they were ridiculed and now we are in a lockdown, so they were right. The sooner you take measure, the better for your health and your economy too. If you're able to contain the spreading you won't have hospitals full of people and you'll have less sick people at home, not able to work even if they don't need to be cured in hospitals.

Well, at least the in-store model "butterfly" keyboards won't break during the slowdown.
I dunno - a dust build up could be fatal.

Lets just say Apple's response to this so far has been pretty great. For such a big company to respond so quickly shows how agile they've kept their operations. How much they've cared for the community. They've been prepared for a disaster just as well as they've been preparing their product lineup.
