This is currently the best price for this model among the major Apple resellers online, although it isn't quite the lowest price we've ever tracked. Both the Space Gray and Gold options are being discounted, but Gold will ship faster and arrive by the end of the month.

It’s a toy. Except for this spring when it is also a Zoom device. My son still has to use a laptop to do his Google Classroom schoolwork since the iPad even with a paired keyboard can’t allow him to complete and turn in assignments. - while this is likely a flaw in the Google Classroom app, it’s more proof that an iPad is not a substitute for a computer for any real school use.
My kids schools don’t use google classroom and they each have turned in 100% of their work on their iPad Air 3 with keyboards. More proof that the iPad can be a computer substitute for real school use.

Probably they will also buy the Smart Keyboard ($159) and the 1st gen Pencil ($99), and maybe a mouse or trackpad too, so add that to the price.

When upgrading to a new iPad in 2022 (again with an old chip and few RAM), they will find out that the "old" 2020 keyboard and pencil are not compatible with the new 2022 iPad.

How do you think Apple has become a US$ 1 trillion company?
Yeah, But you really don't have to buy Apple's accessories. There are less expensive third party options. Get a Logitech K380 Keyboard plus BT Mouse for total of $50-60 on sale; $250 iPad plus the $50 accessories and $10 case from Amazon. $310.....pretty sweat. Use your employer provided computer for work and use your iPad for personal stuff. Done and Done.

I realize this won't work for everyone, but I bet it would work for a fair number of people. Of course, YMMV.

Few days ago my 2018 iPad 6th fell from ~1.20m (~4 feet) high, with no case, no protection, its screen turned down and hit the floor.

When I took it to see the damage, for my surprise there was no crack on the screen, not even a single scratch, perfectly intact, like new.

Very lucky because I don't want to have to replace it buying an A10 iPad in 2020, I bought an A10 iPad 24 months ago.
I think you made your point before this post. Wrong or not, your point was made.

By people buying new equipment every year. Sound familiar? I bet you do it. I‘ve had a 9.7 iPad Pro that I used daily since release. Bought a 2018 Pro(549 refurbished through apple and a smart folio keyboard from eBay for $88) this year and plan to keep it for another 4 years. $13/month for my main work device feels like a steal.

Yes, in 2 and 1/2 years we'll see the A16 been launched, imagine you there with an A10 iPad with 3GB of RAM...
For $250? I bet people will think they got a great device for $8/month.
