Apple today released the iOS 13.4.1 update for iPhone SE owners, suggesting iPhone SE models arriving to customers tomorrow will have iOS 13.4 installed and will need a day-one software update.

iPhone SE owners can install the new update over-the-air tomorrow through the Settings app. To access the updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

iOS 13.4.1 was released for other iPhones on April 7 to address an issue that prevented devices running iOS 13.4 from participating in FaceTime calls with devices running iOS 9.3.6 and earlier or OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 and earlier. Release notes for the update are below:

iOS 13.4.1 includes bug fixes for your ‌iPhone‌.

- Fixes an issue where devices running iOS 13.4 could not participate in ‌FaceTime‌ calls with devices running iOS 9.3.6 and earlier or OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 and earlier.
- Addresses a bug with the Settings app where choosing a Bluetooth from the quick actions menu on the Home screen would fail.

The iPhone SE was announced last week, with pre-orders taking place on April 17. The first deliveries of the new device will begin tomorrow.

I am NOT doing any updates for any of my Apple Devices until this Pandemic subsides. Way too many updates in the past have created issues and now would be the worst time for problems. My MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone etc work fine as is so no need for new bells and whistles at the moment.
What a weird rant on a post for a patch specifically meant to fix functionality problems, and not for new “bells and whistles”.

There's anti-vaxxers, so it only makes sense that there would also be anti-patchers.

Once again, I must say, as an Apple user, I sometimes take for granted the extreme attention to software we receive from the company. I have to be reminded occasionally how much of a pain updates are on Androids and Windows. This is a hallmark of Apple and one that has kept me as a customer for years.

Are you exercising similar caution in other parts of your life? Avoiding eating leftovers since maybe they went bad? Not using soap in the shower since it’s slippery? CAREFUL!

So I'm moving from the old SE to the new SE tomorrow. Should I update the OS before or after transferring my data across?
If it were me, I would do the setup first then transfer your data.
