Apple Tweaks German Speaking Voice for Siri on iPhone, iPad, and HomePod

by

Apple appears to have updated the speaking voice of Siri on devices in Germany, based on reports compiled by iphone-ticker.de (via ifun.de).

According to the website, several readers have reported ‌Siri‌'s German speech comes across as more natural and melodic than before, especially on HomePod, although the changes are subtle, with better pronunciation and different inflection depending on what's being said.

Apple thoroughly revised ‌Siri‌'s voice in 2017 with the introduction of iOS 11, which also brought enhancements to the voice assistant's machine learning and artifical intelligence. Apple also tweaked ‌Siri‌'s British and Australian voices to be more natural in February 2019.

Siri sollte eine zweite Sprache verstehen können. Englische Musiker, Titel, Orte usw werden nie erkannt.

This article send my imagination to the cartoon Ferdinand with the scenes of horses:
Aaaah... I’ve fallen zown and cannot giddy-up! :))

I would love it if Apple would have German-English, French -English or even Italian - English accent.
Just imagine: Hey Siri! do I put ketchup on the pizza?
Ei ei o ei. You do not a put a ketchup on a the pizza ei?!!

The pronunciation of street names when using Maps is so bad it's usually unintelligible. The phone can't even say "Strasse". The part that annoys me the most is that, as its found these things on the map, it must know that these things are in Germany and very likely to require German pronunciation.

The same problems must hit Apple employees, at least when they travel so Apple must know...

yes especially voice to text should work with two languages, depending on the language you type with that contact. Same with Siri reading messages via AirPods. They sound HILARIOUS when Siri attempts to pronounce English the German way
