Apple Shares Teaser for 'The Snoopy Show' Coming to Apple TV+ in February

Apple today shared a teaser for an upcoming series called "The Snoopy Show," which will launch on February 5, 2021.

"The Snoopy Show" will mark Apple's second series made in partnership with WildBrain (formerly DHX Media) and its subsidiary Peanuts Worldwide. Apple in 2019 debuted faux documentary "Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10," and "Snoopy in Space," following Snoopy and the Peanuts gang as Snoopy pursues his dream of being an astronaut.

Apple won an Emmy for Outstanding Children's or Family Viewing Program for Peanuts in Space, and it has committed to producing a range of new "Peanuts" content in the future.

Looks nice, but I wonder how many parents would immediately think of going on Apple TV for it? Up to now it’s mostly been mature content.
There are plenty of adults who would watch it on their own. Snoopy has appeal across all age groups because he’s been around for so long. Those of us who are parents will just call the kids in to watch. But I don’t think anyone who is a parent would sign up for Apple TV just to get this for their kids, for the reason you stated.

I laugh when I remember the many forum members who lost their tempers because it was initially reported that Apple TV was going to be “family friendly.” Well so much for THAT, unless you’ve got a very unconventional family! Even if I were okay with kids watching some of the racier scenes in “Servant”, (which I am not) I can guarantee they would NOT be okay watching those scenes with their mom and dad in the room. It would be mortifying for most teens and tweens. Nobody wants to sit and watch sex scenes with “old people”. Which could be a 35 year old, if you’re their 15 year old kid. Lol.

So, no, I can’t say Apple TV is particularly family friendly and I hope the people who were particularly ferocious over the possibility it was going to be, choked on their own bile back during that time, because they were as intolerant as they were accusing the rest of us who were hopeful for family friendly programming of being.

Personally I think Apple has been pretty good coming out of the starting gate with a little something for everyone and I think they show tremendous promise that they are going to grow their catalog of offerings in a positive way. I am so looking forward to the Foundation Series.
