Hard to believe these could be so expensive ... even after the discount. I saw a third party one the other day that was similarly priced. Since the virus hit, I feel that some sectors, especially consumer tech, are gouging us all.

Now cut the weight in half. No use having an iPad Pro with keyboard that weighs more and is bulkier than a MacBook Air M1. I sent my Magic Keyboard back when I realized it was so heavy and bulky.

Pathetic price for what it is. I bought it for my iPad Pro 12.9 but geez it made it heavier than a Macbook Pro and more expensive too. Won't do that again.

It has to be that heavy to act as a counter weight or it will tip over due to the weight of the iPad. The MBA is lighter because it doesn't need a counterweight because all the components are in the body, not in the screen. If you want a keyboard AND a touchscreen AND lightweight, then you'll have to wait until Apple decides to backtrack on not having touchscreen laptops, but you might be waiting a while, as Apple can be extremely stubborn when they make a mistake (e.g. Butterfly keyboard, Touchbar...).
Agree with the physics, but it is more than that. They are trying to make the iPad something it is not, a laptop. They should not do this. If they want a laptop/tablet make it like the Surface. That is a much better compromise. Just a shame it runs Windows.
