"Come From Away" tells the story of several thousand people who have been stranded in Gander, Newfoundland after flights into the United States were grounded after the attacks that took place on September 11, 2001.

"Come From Away" tells the story of 7,000 people stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland after all flights into the US are grounded on September 11, 2001. As the people of Newfoundland graciously welcome the "come from aways" into their community in the aftermath, the passengers and locals alike process what's happened while finding love, laughter and new hope in the unlikely and lasting bonds that they forge.

Directed by Christopher Ashley, who directed the original Broadway production, "Come From Away" has an ensemble cast led by members of the Broadway show.

Apple says the live performance of "Come From Away" was filmed in May at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater in New York City for an audience of 9/11 survivors and front-line workers.

As a longtime musical performer and aficionado, "Come From Away" is easily one of the best things I have ever seen on a stage. Happy to see Apple TV+ picking this up, and greatly looking forward to seeing this!

And if you ever get a chance to experience it live in person, do it. It's an incredibly moving piece of theatre.

It's really good. It's very emotional; I was in tears at parts of it. I think it was better than Dear Evan Hansen which won best musical that year. I go see almost every musical on broadway every year until it shut down.

Can we all just agree that musicals are the stupidest thing ever and should be banned? Who goes around singing and dancing about what they are doing and what's going on?
I don't know about that. One of my favorite NYC musicals was Avenue Q. It was with actors with muppets singing dirty raunchy songs while jumping around and holding pitch. It's all very impressive and very funny.

Saw it live in London, a truly wonderful feel-good musical, not flashy, just warm-hearted and uplifting, definately worth a watch.

Sweet! Right before Apple’s September event :)
It's more synchronized with the 20th anniversary of 9/11 than an Apple event...
