Tidal Gains Siri Integration on iPhone and iPad, But Still Lacks HomePod Support

Tidal has added Siri support in the latest update to its iOS app, meaning iPhone and iPad users can now ask Apple's virtual assistant to play content from the music streaming service.

As noted by XDA Developers, the added support doesn't appear to extend to the HomePod or HomePod mini, which means Tidal users still can't take advantage of the ‌HomePod‌'s ‌Siri‌ voice controls to navigate their tunes and playlists.

As things stand, ‌Siri‌ on ‌HomePod‌ works with Apple Music, Deezer, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, and Pandora. Apart from Tidal, the only other major streaming service that doesn't yet work with ‌Siri‌ on ‌HomePod‌ is Spotify, a fact which has left users critical of the company. The reasoning behind Spotify's refusal to adopt ‌‌HomePod‌‌ support remains unknown.

Pretty easy answer, it is one way Spotify can "stick it" to Apple with next to no consequences.

Tidal still exists? Why would anyone subscribe to it?
I thought the same, but music quality is excellent on it. I would rank Tidal and Apple Music tops in quality of music.

I own a Tesla and Tesla does not have an Apple Music app, which I would prefer, so I did subscribe to Tidal and was surprised how good it was.

Tidal still exists? Why would anyone subscribe to it?
In addition to my earlier response Tidal for me has much better discovery. Apple discovery seems to be limited to recently released songs that were deemed popular. Tidal discovery is much more varied by genre and by year. Todays picks include:

a Rachmaninoff Piano concerto
a Toy Story 4 track
Nathan Evans - Wellerman (Sea Shanty) - this is the type of unusual content I'm looking for
Do-Re-Mi from the Sound of Music
Singing in the Rain Gene Kelley. Never got any recommendations this old from Apple Music
Puccini by Pavoratti

Tidal still exists? Why would anyone subscribe to it?
in 2021 Spotify dropped support for streaming through DJ apps without explanation - leaving thousands of DJs in the lurch. Spotify offer no explanation for their lack of support for Siri. Spotify treat their customers with a degree of contempt.

Tidal took over DJ integration and welcomed lots of DJs to the app. They have added support for Siri. I have requested Tidal add little known music and they have done so in days. I have requested Tidal support and got answers within a few hours. Plus they have a LOT of videos and their sound quality is good.

Seems to me the question is why would anyone subscribe to Spotify?
