This is an overall second-best price on the AirPods 2, but we of course haven't tracked record low deals since the holidays. If you're shopping for a cheaper pair of AirPods in 2023, this will be your best bet.

This model of the AirPods comes with the Lightning Charging Case. We track sales for every model of the AirPods in our Best AirPods Deals guide, so be sure to bookmark that page while you shop around for the wireless headphones.

Those batteries were manufactured years ago. Doubt they'll last more than 6 months of regular use.
Do you truly believe Apple made one HUGE batch of these several years ago and that's it? Because that's the only way your comment makes any sense.

Edit: oh wait, I see now from your next comment that you do believe that. LOL ok man.

AirPods have 0 resale value because the batteries age really quick.

Good pricing. Apple should permanently lower the price to $99.

i actually prefer the “tap” interaction with these than the “pinch” of the newer models

Wait... do you think the AirPods 2 that are for sale today were all manufactured in 2019 ?

I don't think that's true.

And it would go against Apple's "just in time" manufacturing practice.

Apple does not manufacture a bunch of products just to sit in a warehouse for months (or years!)
They do. They have projections, revise projections as sales continue, order a final manufacturing run, the product is warehoused, then the line is repurposed for another product. It takes a LONG time and a LOT of work to repurpose a production line to make next product. The line is not going to wait around to make a slow trickle of Airpods every day to match sales. Those things were slammed down the line, bam, and done. Next! Airpods2 are old, old product now, and the "new" ones you buy today have been sitting in a warehouse for years.
