Registered developers can opt-in to the beta through the Software Update section of the System Settings app. Note that an Apple ID associated with an Apple Developer account is required to get the beta.

We don't yet know what might be included in macOS Sonoma 14.5, but if new features are found in the beta, we'll update this post.

Sigh.

Dammit Apple!!!!

[Edit: to clarify, I'm grumpy that a Trillion dollar software company is asking me to spend my valuable time beta testing for them, and they can't apparently be bothered to write any release notes to help me do that task]

Sure hope they get macOS Sonoma solid enough to be the LAST Mac operating system to NOT have A.I. driving the OS and for those who don’t want A.I. to control your system or consistently “suggesting” it will do a task for you.

I will probably “park” myself on the bench and watch the development of A.I. for awhile on macOS Sonoma once the next new OS A.I. comes out. This will be the first “parking myself” on a OS since I started my computer experience (always upgraded to the “new” OS for many years).

I like the option right now to have the choice to use A.I. or not…but…once you have in the background “Big Bro” helping you and learning what you are doing to “make your experience better” without having to option to turn it off…REGARDLESS if you select “off” (like Siri is now though it still silently gathers information in the background), sticking with older systems might have to be my option.

With every firmware update, Apple is slowly eliminating the option to load an older OS on your Mac that is able too. After 2024..there will be NO new Mac without the default OS having A.I. in your Mac.

No thanks…may not be updating from macOS Sonoma
