Starting with the 14-inch MacBook Pro, Best Buy's new sale is focusing on the higher-end M3 Pro and M3 Max models. Prices start at $1,699.00 for the M3 Pro 512GB model, and also include the M3 Max 1TB model for $2,899.00, both of which represent $300 discounts and all-time low prices.

It’s the economy dude. Laptop sales are down 30% for everyone. Good deals though.
Beat me to it. Even here in the UK then USA economy and people feeling pinch due to increased cost of living. Reading one article and said 25% increase in grocery prices since 2021. At which point big ticket items like this are going to be less important.

These machines have 2 things going against them. They weigh too much and their displays cause eye strain and headaches. The latter is an absolute deal breaker. Apple is long way from fixing either of those. So expect a lot more sales.

I just paid $2000+ for a 14" 16GB/512GB laptop that weighs 2.2 lb and has an EyeSafe display.

I'm a diehard macOS fan. I'm not price sensitive. But Apple drove me away.

This is a Pro machine. It’s lacking.
18Gb of DDR5 RAM/Unified Memory is NOT lacking...plenty of users are using these Pro Machines, especially the M3 Pro base model, and it runs fantastic...

Given the minor spec bump year over year from M1 Pro ➡️ M2 Pro ➡️ M3 Pro, I’d expect another minor spec increase for M4 Pro. Apple really blew us out of the water with the M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, and M1 Ultra. Everything subsequently has been iterative, which is fine.
