Warning: these things are absolutely impossible to change batteries after a year. You have to trash them after a year.
We've had 10-15 AirTags in backpacks, key rings, luggage, etc. for years and have never had a single issue changing batteries. It's so simple I don't know how it could be easier. Great product.

Here's one of MANY videos demonstrating how dead simple this is:

It's because they might corrode on stuck, as well as the polished metal cover being very difficult to grip to remove, since you have to rotate them to remove it and there is no grip for that, making it impossible to remove if corroded stuck. It's an accessibility nightmare. I've taken them to the Apple Store and even the clerks had hard time removing them.

The concept is fine, the execution is horrible.
The concept is great, it sounds like it's your experience that was horrible.

I have an idea that would make Steve Jobs proud: design an iPhone case that will hold an AirTag, so that you can use the AirTag to locate your phone if you misplace it!

What’s the latest rumor on new Airtags? Curious if it’s worth getting these.

Correct. If they can't get the experience right it means its a flawed product.

They really need to make it more accessible.
Whether you like it or not, no product is perfect for all people. Instead of auditioning your complaints here, try submitting feedback to Apple. Change takes work, depending on how much you actually care. And if you make a genuine attempt and get no response, maybe try a different product like Tile.
