I am really sick of companies not providing actual detailed update change logs, whether it be a simple app or an entire OS. It is completely disrespectful to the user base. I don't know when this practice started (it certainly wasn't always this way), but it needs to STOP. Instead people are hoping for magical fixes that may or may not come or end up breaking things if the update doesn't fix their specific problem but creates a bug elsewhere.

Ostensibly fixes bugs so "important" they can't even be bothered to tell you what they are.

It’s sometimes strange to read comments like this in a forum for Apple enthusiasts.
It’s a general behavior to not list all security changes when they’re not publicly known so for due to security reasons and give users time to update. They will most likely release the changelog for this update in a couple of days.
And there is usually distinction between "bug fixes" and "security patches." Everyone knows Apple posts the CVE disclosures some time after the updates (sometimes with more to follow days later), but these are never specified directly in the release notes. I don't recall Apple ever withholding non-security release notes, something that would at least be out of the ordinary. If non-security-related bugs were fixed, as would be implied by the MR quote, then they should be disclosed in the release notes as they normally are. That's what I was complaining about.
