No cellular compatibility? No point. It’s a crippled version of the full product.
Not..everyone..needs..or..wants..cellular connectivity in their mini. Why would I spend money on something I don't need. For the few times, I might need it, I can just turn on my iPhone's hot spot and connect the mini via wifi. And if you want cellular you can get it from a company called....Apple.

When the cheapest android tablets all have GPS hardware, apple is clearly trying to upsell to cellular devices.
Or perhaps their internal research shows most users don’t care when their use cases are what I outlined above. Get a cheap android tablet if you want, no one’s stopping you.

I would love that. But I honestly don’t think we’ll ever get a pro Mini. If you asked me a year ago, I would’ve said it’s likely. But with the iPhone Fold looking more and more certain, I think they’ll kinda brand that as the “Pro Mini”.

You don't get GPS without the cellular package with apple.
But if you are connecting to your iPhone via hot spot, your iPhone has GPS and it is w/ you. Yes?
