iOS 26.5.1 Update for iPhones is Coming Soon

Apple's software engineers are testing iOS 26.5.1, according to the MacRumors visitor logs, which have been a reliable indicator of upcoming iOS versions.

iOS 26
iOS 26.5.1 will almost certainly be a minor update that fixes bugs and/or security vulnerabilities, and it will likely be released by the end of next week.

The logs show that Apple has ramped up testing of iOS 26.6 as well, with a first beta of that update likely to be released at some point in June. iOS 26.6 will likely be a minor update as well. Last year, Apple seeded the first beta of iOS 18.6 to developers on Monday, June 16, which was three days after WWDC 2025 ended.

Apple is shifting its attention towards iOS 27, which is set to be unveiled during the WWDC 2026 keynote on Monday, June 8 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

This will be the purest, truest version of iOS 26 that Apple has ever released!

But seriously, I really hope iOS 27 is focused on stability, bug fixes, etc.

This is like using a Microsoft product. Releases almost every week (update Tuesdays in the MS world). I moved to Apple 26 years ago to get away from this and it has caught up with me. Not sure where to run to anymore. Problem is updates to iOS usually result in updates to iPad OS, MacOS, Watch OS, HomePod OS and TV OS and this takes time and effort and usually results in a lot of the over zealous security conscious apps demanding that I re-sign in. Last update took me around 6 hours on all my devices (4 laptops, 2 iPads, 1 Mini, 1 iMac, 3 Apple TVs, 2 Apple Watches, 9 HomePods). This is getting tedious but I know it is because there are deviants who take pleasure in wrecking our lives, but still. What's the point. Maybe time to rid myself of all this stuff and go back to the simple life (which does not exist, of course).

I’ve always wondered- why are Apple engineers visiting macrumors on upcoming releases? Is it to just confirming sites are working in Safari?
It’s to laugh at the coverage I assume. Same reason I’m here.

I hope this fixes how hot hellfire my phone had been overheating to. Not the first report of this either..
I do nothing on my 17 Pro Max 512gb except make calls, text and check email and it is constantly overheating. So much for Apple's BS misleading marketing for "Vapor Cooling" or whatever they called it. What a bunch of horse****

26.5.1 will do nothing but install more issues and more pride wallpaper
