iOS 27's Weather App Has a New Way to View Forecasts

Starting with iOS 27, Apple's Weather app offers new hourly and 10-day overviews for precipitation and wind that you can quickly view at a glance.

While this sort of information was already accessible elsewhere in the app, you can now quickly tap between conditions, precipitation, and wind overviews.

You can view the percentage chance of rain or snow each hour and day, as well as estimated wind speeds, and the information is accompanied by visuals.

iOS 27 is currently in beta. The update is expected to be released in September.

One of Apple’s best acquisitions in years!

I wish they continued offering Dark Sky's interface. And—for where I live at least—Dark Sky's next hour precipitation was more accurate than Apple Weather's is now.

One of Apple’s best acquisitions in years!

https://www.macrumors.com/2020/03/31/apple-acquires-weather-app-dark-sky/
There are many of us that question that. Mainly because Dark Sky had much more accurate weather predictions than what Apple Weather has been delivering after the acquisition.

I have no idea where Apple Weather sources its data or where Dark Sky sourced theirs, but I've always chalked up this dramatic decline to being either Apple doesn't want to pay what is being asked of them for the source data or the source data feeds don't want Apple to have their data (so they can make more selling it to other outfits).

Dark Sky was freaky accurate on what it was focused on doing... Predicting if you were going to get rained on and how long you had to wait before you could escape rain imposed shelter.

That's great but what was wrong with how Dark Sky displayed it? This is a step in the right direction but there is no timescale on the graphic so the little icons are vague to interpret.
It looks like the time scale on the little graphic is aligned with a few hours before and after sunset. So you can see what it looks like across the day. That's much more helpful where I live anyway. Where you might have a 90% chance of rain for a day only for that rain to be between 2 and 3am.
