In 2026, I think the amount of people who move between Android and iOS is fairly minimal. If you wanted a folding phone, I would have thougth you would go to Android a few years ago already. Is this really a big competition for Apple?

Apple can be easy to beat, at least in the short-run because they're slow and complacent.
"Slow" may better reflect "methodical" and "rigorous" than complacency.

People pretend that these companies are even in competition. Samsung wants Apple to sell a billion folding phones so they can make them a billion screens. They both want Apple to sell as many as possible.

Z Fold 8 has been a huge hit so far and so will be the folding iPhone.
This is exactly what Apple wants to see. Samsung switched to the "rumored" iphone form factor for their foldable, and it's getting rave reviews. That is only good for Apple.
