Ex-Apple CFO Luca Maestri Winding Down His Time at the Company

Former Apple CFO Luca Maestri is taking another step back from the company, reports Bloomberg. Maestri left his role as CFO in January 2025, but stayed at Apple to run the company's Corporate Services teams.

Maestri stepped down from that position in recent weeks, and Bloomberg says he is still at Apple but has no responsibilities other than hosting a class at Apple University. Maestri reported to former Apple CEO Tim Cook, but he does not report to new Apple CEO John Ternus. Maestri is slowly withdrawing from Apple, and visits the office about once a week.

Corporate services includes information systems and technology, information security, and real estate and development. The team is being taken over by Kevan Parekh, who became Apple's CFO after Maestri stepped down.

Bloomberg says Cook liked to keep departing executives in smaller roles, but Ternus may not continue that practice.

The people on the cusp of retirement are retiring in droves at my organization and many others, and I don't blame them. It's getting weirder by the day out there.

He likely is only still working there to vest some of his restricted stock units. Hence the nearly inconsequential role and limited time in the office / working at all. It fulfills the legal requirements of still getting paid his RSUs while being practically retired.

Apple does transitions well. Luca was one if the greatest CFOs in history. Pleased to hear he will soon get his retirement, after a steady transition.
