Apple announced that PayPal can now be used to pay for music downloads, audiobooks, and gift certificates in the iTunes Music Store. This lets customers pay by transfer from a bank account, expanded the potential customer base to those with checking accounts but not credit cards. To attract new customers to the iTMS/PayPal system, Apple is offering five free songs to the first 500,000 customers to open a new iTunes account in the U.S. using PayPal as their form of payment, though March 31, 2005.
Last year, Apple launched CarPlay Ultra, the long-awaited next-generation version of its CarPlay software system for vehicles. Nearly a year later, CarPlay Ultra is still limited to Aston Martin's latest luxury vehicles, but that should change fairly soon.
In May 2025, Apple said many other vehicle brands planned to offer CarPlay Ultra, including Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis.
