Apple Releases iTunes for Windows 12.13.1 With Security Fixes

Apple today released an iTunes 12.13.1 update for Windows users, with the software introducing security improvements.

According to Apple's release notes, there are no notable new features, but the new version of iTunes should be installed as soon as possible because of the security improvements

iTunes for Windows is typically updated every few months, and this update follows an October release that saw Apple add options for listening to podcasts and audiobooks.

iTunes has been phased out on the Mac for several years now and it has been replaced with Finder and the TV app, but Apple has continued to keep the Windows version available.

iTunes for Windows can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store or from Apple's website.

I wish we could have the windows iTunes back on MacOS. Its a better app that is way easier to navigate and use the find feature. Music on MacOS is a giant pile of confusion. Secret key commands to bring up the old find features. Kludge.

I miss iTunes. The mac/tech blogger sphere was all aflame in their hate towards iTunes for reasons I don't understand. iTunes was a superior app to music. I especially like how easy it was to create my own ringtones.

I wish iTunes and Apple Music were two separate apps on the mac.
I wish we had a simpler, more functional music app on iPhone too - Apple Music is messy.

iTunes is far superior in managing my library of music on the phone than the music app on MacOS.
I have tried and constantly failed to get the correct album art to show up on my iPhone 12 on iOS 17 using Music on Monterey.
Just because multiple songs are performed by the same artist, that does not mean every single bloody song is in the same damn album and use the same album art.
As soon as I go back to manage the phone music using iTunes on High Sierra, everything show up correctly!
