It's less about the camera and more about the photographer.

I mean, here’s the thing - the iPhone can totally handle cinematography. (Then again all the gear needed… lights, rigs, all that stuff and a production staff).. Still, I love that it’s making filmmaking way more accessible. A couple years ago you’d need a $50-100k camera (Arri, RED etc) just to shoot anything decent. Now the tech’s finally getting out of the way and enabling creators. AI tech like VEO 3 will fill in the gaps for SFX.

It's both exciting and daunting for filmmakers these days I bet....

IMO it’s less about the iPhone’s camera and more about all of the accessories added to it in order to get the desired results. If this movie had been shot with just a handheld iPhone in natural light and nothing else, I’d consider that impressive.

Seems close to perfect. The night scenes are still a little mushy though. I suppose they used ProRes and graded the footage. It would be interesting to see how close to this it would be if they used HEVC. The lack of compression artifacts is very impressive.

Did not watch the 20 minute video. But iPhone cameras are good and can take very good photos and videos. Looking forward to the improvements the camera will get later this year with the new iPhones.
You should watch, it's a great little film.

But it's cool know it can.
Some people can’t understand how impressive it is that we literally carry a device that you can use to make a movie in your POCKET. That’s wild. They’d rather be snarky, unhappy, and find anything to complain about
