Apple Releases watchOS 26.0.2, visionOS 26.0.1 and tvOS 26.0.1

Apple today released watchOS 26.0.2, visionOS 26.0.1, and tvOS 26.0.1, the first updates to the watchOS 26, visionOS 26, and tvOS 26 updates that came out earlier in September.

The new software can be downloaded on each device by going to the Software Update section of the Settings app. There's also a new HomePod Software 26.0.1 update. Note that watchOS is 26.0.2 because there was a watchOS 26.0.1 update designed to add Messages and Find My support to the Apple Watch Ultra 3 in Mexico.

According to Apple's release notes, the software provides bug fixes and important security updates. tvOS 26.0.1 also addresses an issue that could cause audio to be out of sync on certain video streaming apps.

My Ultra 3 installed this two days ago, did I miss something? (or not miss something!)
New watches are actually getting 26.0.2 now. .01 was released at launch.

Have you rebooted both watch and phone?
Yes. Several times.

Each watch would spend many hours at “verifying…” status during the update.

What eventually worked:
1 - unpair Watch from my iPhone 17 Pro Max that I had INSTALLED AS NEW specifically to minimize odds of any old, unneeded app or setting causing errors.
2 - from the watch: Settings , General, Erase and reset watch, keeping celllular plan
3 - force reset phone
4 - install 26.0.2 to the watch
5 - wait 6 hours or overnight for "Verifying..." to finish

Several times (at least 2 or 3 on each!) of attempting 1-5 on each watch eventually worked. This 26.0.2 Watch update took from Monday through Thursday of constant babysitting to complete for 2 watches.

6 - THEN the (cellular) watches still could NOT make phone calls. At this point I finally decided to simply return them.
My last ditch thought - call AT&T. Lucked into a very thoughtful agent! The agent said that he disconnected and reconnected each phone number to my watch.

Now I can make phone calls with each watch.

I'm still on 26.0.0 and just getting Checking for Update after updating my phone to 26.0.1
Turn Bluetooth off on your phone and then start the upgrade from the watch itself

Wow, quite a nightmare, sorry you had to go through that but glad it finally worked.

Say more please! Why?
with BT off, and then on the watch Settings, General, SW updates it'll download the update over wifi, much faster than BT.
