OpenAI's ChatGPT Atlas Browser Is Shutting Down

chatgpt atlas browserOpenAI says it is shuttering its ChatGPT Atlas browser. When it was released last October, the company said the agentic browser was designed around the question "What if you could chat with your web browser?" The query was at least novel, but the answer was apparently not all that compelling.

As part of a slew of ChatGPT Work-related announcements on Thursday, OpenAI confirmed plans to "sunset" Atlas, with deprecation scheduled for August 9.

"What if you could chat with your web browser?" My answer to this question would be, even if I could, I wouldn't.

Absolutely a good call.

Say what you want, but moving away from Sora and Atlas into Codex and improving ChatGPT was a very smart business decision. Sometimes things just don’t work and you have to drop them.

I know there probably won't be an AI bubble burst in the complete eradication of AI sense, but I do hope there is an AI marketing bubble burst in the near future. I'm sick of everything getting a GD AI tag on it now. Toilet Paper NOW WTH AI!! Connect it to your phone app, give your arse a wipe and it'll tell you what you ate for dinner on Tuesday!!
