iOS 27.2 Adds Siri AI in New Languages

In the iOS 27.2 beta, Apple Siri AI is available in new languages, including French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Siri AI More Languages October

In the launch version of iOS 27, ‌Siri‌ AI is limited to English.

Apple previously said that new ‌Siri‌ AI languages would be coming in October, so that likely means iOS 27.2 will see an October launch.

Can anyone explain to me why Siri doesn’t support less widely spoken languages when large AI models can understand and speak them fluently? It doesn't make any sense to me.

This is the ultimate hope. A lot of people the world over interchange languages, sometimes mid sentence. Particularly in Canada, you'll see Montrealers going back and forth between French and English and in Lisbon, it's common to hear people switching between Portuguese and English. Siri needs to be able to accommodate this.
Yeah. French/English bilingual Canadian here. My phone/Siri is setup in English, but not being able to make requests to Siri in French (e.g. requesting songs from French artists in Apple Music, requesting directions to contacts/places with French-sounding names, sending/dictating messages in French, etc.) has always been a pain in the ass.

I mean, you don't even need gen AI for that. Google Assistant has supported multi-language input for *years* before they introduced Gemini.

I don’t understand why they still need me to choose a language when it’s using LLM.. it should support literally anything mixed
