How to Post More Than 10 Photos on Instagram

by

Instagram in August 2024 doubled its carousel post limit from 10 to 20 photos and videos, giving you more flexibility to share your favorite moments in a single post. This expanded feature is perfect for sharing vacation highlights, event recaps, or those increasingly popular "photo dumps" without splitting content across multiple posts.

Why Post More Photos?

The increased limit is particularly useful for storytelling through images. Whether you're documenting a weekend adventure, showcasing a portfolio, or sharing memories from a special event, it's worth giving it a try. With 20 slots available, you can create more comprehensive visual narratives without overwhelming your followers' feeds with separate posts.

Post Up to 20 Photos on Instagram

  1. In the Instagram app, tap the + icon at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap the multiple-photo icon (it looks like stacked squares).
  3. Choose up to 20 photos/videos from your gallery, then tap Next.
  4. Apply optional filters, add captions, locations, and any tags if desired.
  5. Tap Share to publish.

The expanded carousel limit is available worldwide - if you're still limited to 10 photos, make sure your app is updated to the latest version.

Instants are ephemeral photos that disappear from Instagram after they're viewed by a user's friends or after a 24-hour period.
