Gurman: No Apple Watch Ultra 3 Tomorrow, Ultra 2 in Black Likely

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman today said that he does not expect Apple to announce an Apple Watch Ultra 3 at its event tomorrow. Instead, he believes that Apple will introduce a black titanium color option for the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

Nearly a year ago, Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo was first to indicate there might not be an Apple Watch Ultra 3 this year. At the time, Kuo said the potential lack of an Apple Watch Ultra 3 this year could be partly due to Apple needing "more time to develop innovative health management features."

A black titanium casing option for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 was originally rumored to launch last year, but that never happened.

An Apple Watch Ultra 2 in sleek black titanium would be a pretty amazing feature all by itself. :cool:
Yeah, that’s where we’re at in 2024 with Apple, color is now a new feature and what some people are looking forward to the most.

Not sure if I buy that. Why release a new color for a year old product. I could see color refreshes happening mid-cycle but not a full year later. Release the Ultra 3 in two colors with a spec bump and new bands. That seems more Apple-like.

I love that Gurman can claim he's right if:

[LIST=1]
* Apple Watch Ultra 3 with a chip bump only
* Apple Watch Ultra 3 with the same features as the normal redesigned watch
* Apple Watch Ultra 3 available in black
* Apple Watch Ultra 2 available in black
* Apple Watch Ultra 2 available in black and with a chip bump

Since he has predicted all of these separately based on his inside sources in the last 3 weeks. I mean at some point if you predict every single version, I guess you'll hit on one of them and then you can say you predicted it!
